Debby said happily- 'I have no idea what day of the week it is. Funny thing is, we all thought it was Thursday only to find out that it’s actually Friday from Runyon’s daily call to Nicholas. This morning we were surrounded by a number of rain clouds. On the morning talk with Parker, he threw in at the end, ‘By the way, you might get a few squalls this morning.’ That we did! Runyon did an amazing job of running clear of them. We got rained on a little but not too much. By 10am the sky had cleared and it turned into a beautiful day! We motor sailed through the squalls and the set sail moving at 4-6 knots at any given moment through out the day. How amazing it is to let the wind take us without sound of the engine moving us along.
We noticed even more places on the genora that the edge was unraveling but since it is stuck we’ll have to wait until we get to Marsh Harbor to get it down. We are all starting to get sore from being on the boat. I would give anything for a bike ride to stretch my legs and move them. Ivy told me that once we get to the dock, I might just collapse from having adjusted to sea legs. I will have to exercise my land legs all over again.
**Today we saw an Albatross!! This is a legendary good luck charm for sailors. Albatross are huge sea birds who can fly up to 5 days without resting. We spotted one around dinner time, he came around, checked us out and flew away. **
